Group Stakeholder Engagement governs the Group’s reputation, overseeing all communication activities to ensure the delivery of coordinated and consistent messages across multiple stakeholder groups.

The stage offers the opportunity to develop a sound interdisciplinary knowledge of supervisory topics which are relevant and strategic for UniCredit. Taking part to initiatives and supervisory assessments allows for exposures towards middle management, leading to the development of a unique and overarching understanding of complex topics.

The execution of daily tasks and the management of coordination activities will allow to get experience in terms of being a subject-matter expert and referent for colleagues within internal functions (mainly CRO, CFO, Digital & information, Group Operations, Compliance, Internal Audit as well as the Group’s Business Divisions). The role will also allow getting an exposure to supervisory authorities (mainly ECB and Banca d’Italia).

The stage offers the opportunity to understand the key institutional and regulatory topics which are relevant and strategic for UniCredit. The daily activities will allow the successful candidate to understand the wide area of regulatory dossiers UniCredit is involved in and how the Group conveys its voice into the policy debate and legislative process. The topics include prudential issues, sustainable finance, capital markets, digital developments.

The stage will allow to support senior members of Group Stakeholder Engagement in one on the 3 following  teams:

Group Supervisory Affairs and Processes team is the single entry point for all activities concerning ECB-SSM and Bank of Italy, in order to grant to ensure a timely and accurate response to all the supervisory requests.

Group Public Affairs and Policy is responsible for analysing and assessing the potential impacts of regulation and for coordinating the relationships with the competent authorities. It leads lobbying efforts and advocacy strategies with Italian and EU institutions, as well as with global standard setters. It ensures the coordination of advocacy efforts across all countries where UniCredit is present or holds a strategic interest. It advises and assists the Chairman, CEO and GEC members for advocacy activities.


Global Content, Group Internal Communications and Group Social Media is responsible for fostering effective communication strategies that enhance engagement and collaboration within the organisation and with external audiences

  • Coordinating and steering, across different UniCredit’s functions, ECB and inspection teams’ assessments focused on specific topics within the areas of Business Model, Governance and Risk Management, Risks to Capital (e.g. Market Risk, Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, Credit Risk) and Risks to Liquidity and Funding as well as Non-Financial Risks).
  • Coordinating and steering horizontal analysis carried on by ECB and EBA over the banking sector on system-wide issues.
  • Monitoring on a continuous basis of points of attention related to SREP supervisory activities, timely highlighted to the management to be strategically addressed.
  • Facilitating the information flow among Supervisors, UniCredit’s internal functions and Middle Management, always adopting a content-driven critical attitude.
  • Monitoring the developments of specific legislative dossiers (Italian or European) impacting the Group’s activities and, where needed, providing timely information to the relevant business lines on the development of the legislative process.
  • Taking part in conference calls of relevant banking and trade associations or specific organizations (e.g. think tanks) on specific topics of interest to the Department.
  • Delivering the Group’s key messages to institutional counterparties as well as trade associations, drafting amendments and contributing to draft position papers.
  • Editing the Public Affairs and Policy Monitors.
  • Drafting lists of proper institutional stakeholders to be involved in case of specific meetings/event organized by Public Affairs and Policy.
  • Crafting news for the internal portal or corporate website.
  • Contributing to the creative process to produce communication assets.
  • Benchmarking what other banks and international players are doing in terms of corporate communication, content strategy and social media strategy, so to provide new insights and ideas that could be implemented.

EXPECTED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to coordinate working groups, set deadlines, make clear what is to be delivered and ensure all the work completed ‘in time’ and ‘in scope’.
  • Willingness to support the team on all new and ongoing projects to meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to draft quick overviews of complex topics in short documents and presentations.
  • Sound writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to work with internal referents across different levels of seniority.
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, attention to details.
  • Quickly reactive, flexible, proactive, eager to learn and share ideas, problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • University student attending a Bachelor or a Master Program, enrolled at least in the second year of Bachelor.
  • Academic background in Economics & Finance, Law, International Relations or similar is highly preferable.
  • Proficiency in writing/reading and listening/speaking fluently English is mandatory (Italian proficiency a plus).
  • Full-time availability.
